There is no stopping the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) from making progress on the massive North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project to deliver convenience and comfort to the Filipino people, despite the impending transition of administration in three months.

This was the pledge of DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade in a Facebook post after he led yesterday, 31 March 2022, the inspection of the 36-percent completed PNR Clark Phase 2 or the 53-kilometer rail segment under NSCR that will connect Malolos, Bulacan to Clark, Pampanga.

Sec. Tugade added that once operational, travel time between Malolos and Clark will be cut from 1.5-2 hours to 30-35 minutes. It also feature the country’s first-ever Airport Railway Express Service, which will link Makati to Clark International Airport from 2-3 hours to just 55 minutes.

PNR Clark Phase 2 will have six train stations, namely, Calumpit, Apalit, San Fernando, Angeles, Clark, and Clark International Airport.
